El Mito de Zaragoza
“Small batch mezcal created by artisanal hands with big ideas”
Background
El Mito de Zaragoza, or the ‘Myth of Zaragoza’ is born from local legends. Don Zaragoza is said to have entered an inter-dimensional portal carrying a bottle of mezcal to honour “those on the other side”. Here we are able to offer you a taste of mezcal worthy of “those on the other side”.
Hailing from Axaxacualco, a mezcal community in the state of Guerrero, it has twice received the gold medal from the Mexican Academy of Mezcal and Maguey (2020, 2021). Maestro mezcalero Don Rey David Castro is the third generation in his family to make mezcal and you can taste the inherited knowledge and skill in every drop.
